Radical Skincare Advanced Peptide Antioxidant Serum Review

Radical Skincare recently sent me their new advanced antioxidant serum to try and review. The formula is supposed to protect and firm skin, even skin tone, and fight the 16 causes of aging. That's a lot of causes of aging! You are probably wondering what they are. Here's a list.

1) Poor or low hydration
2) Deterioration of cell regeneration
3) Glycation disorders
4) Slowing down of collagen synthesis
5) Free radicals
6) Nerve transmitter inhibition
7) Low elastin synthesis
8) Destruction of collagen and elastin fibers (MMP)
9) Weak cross-links between fibroblasts and collagen
10) Protection of defective stem cells
11) Pigmentation disorders
12) Inflammation of Langerhans cells
13) Poor cellular respiration
14) Poor barrier effect
15) Weak dermo-epidermal junction
16) Poor nutrition

And this serum is supposed to fight them all? Who wouldn't want to try it? Now that I'm almost 30 I need all the help I can get. The bottle says to use day and night before moisturizer, although honestly I felt the serum was moisturizing enough that I didn't need a separate product, although maybe I would in the winter when my skin gets dry.

So what did I think? In general, I was definitely a fan of this product! I'm always nervous to use any new kind of serum or lotion on my skin because my I'm allergic to certain ingredients and my skin tends to be fairly sensitive. With this product I had no problems whatsoever. I loved the formula. I absolutely hate putting anything that's sticky on my face, so I was relieved that the peptide antioxidant serum wasn't sticky at all. It also wasn't too oily or greasy. It made my skin feel really smooth and I definitely feel like it helped even out my skin tone after using it for a couple weeks. I didn't notice any dramatic change to the fine lines around my eyes and on my forehead, but I believe those kind of improvements take more time.

The ingredients in this product were rigorously tested and selected. They include triple action dipalmitoyl hydroxyproline, anti-glycation decarboxy carnosine, Argan extract, and 2 hexapeptides. Lionel de Benetti, Radical Skincare’s Scientific Advisor, stated that “My aim in formulating Advanced Peptide Antioxidant Serum was to combat the 16 biological factors identified to date as the main causes of skin aging. I therefore chose each active agent one by one, to defend skin against all these factors as effectively as possible.”

The downside is that this product costs a bit more than what I usually spend. It is available on the Radical Skincare website for $190 for 30ml. I realize that not everyone can afford to spend that kind of money on a product, but if you can, I would definitely say that it's worth trying. I try a lot of a different products, and this was definitely one of the best I've used in a while.

  1. I am so interested in trying this. I am always looking for a good serum, but, as this is really pricy I think this will be on the fantasy wish list for a while yet.
